Roofing installation has started on the Carilli residence in Maitland courtesy of Collis Roofing.

The light color of the shingles gives them a high solar reflective value that awards them with EnergyStar certification for their contribution to the energy efficiency of the home. Dark-colored roofing materials absorb radiant heat from the sun and raise the attic temperature, increasing the cost associated with keeping the home cool in the summer. Lighter colors reflect the sun and prevent the build-up of heat in the attic.
