This is the part of a project that's fun.  When we share ideas with a customer and then they see them starting to take shape, it really makes the process rewarding.  The Hamilton residence addition and remodel project consists of a Master suite addition and remodeling of the original 1956 Maitland home.  The completed home will be available for viewing during the Spring 2014 Parade of Homes tour or by appointment through our office.

Shown in the photo is a view through the center of the home.  We've removed all of the interior walls in the area and are in the process of raising the ceilings.  The framers started by installing temporary supports under all of the existing trusses and then removed a section of the roof along its peak.  The gigantic beam was lowered in place in four separate plies - each ply taking four men to carry.  With the beam in place, we are attaching additional boards to the sides of the trusses and then will remove the bottom portion resulting in a much higher ceiling through the center of the home.

All of the structural work was designed by an engineer, bringing the home up to meet current building code standards.  You can track the progress of this project on our website or by clicking the link: Hamilton residence.
