Customer Selections
Building a "Custom" Home
Most production builders require their customers to make all of their selections before they start their home. They usually limit their buyer's choices in order to simplify the process. With the exception of cabinets and counter tops, tile and wallpaper, you could probably make all of your selections at our office in an afternoon. But your home is custom...

If you want unique or special products and features in your home, you must accept the responsibility of making your selections and finalizing your decisions in a timely manner. Nothing has a greater impact on our ability to perform as your builder. When our customers are decisive and organized they usually have fewer surprises and fewer change orders. As a result we are usually able to complete their home on or ahead of schedule.

A true custom home is unique and "one-of-a-kind". The term "custom home" is severely overused in the housing industry. The construction of a home that has never been built before is an extraordinary task. Adding custom products to a home can give it a "one-of-a-kind" feel. • A restaurant-style kitchen sink that won't fit into a standard cabinet: The cabinet designer will need detailed information about the sink and faucet.
  • A high-arc kitchen faucet may conflict with a wall, window sill or raised countertop overhang: Numerous trades need this information in order to avoid a conflict that wouldn't show itself until the home is almost complete.
  • Balconies; Home Theaters; Lighting Control; Solar Panels - the list goes on...
